By using the SANARTE FOUNDATION site, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information in accordance with this policy. The terms of this policy apply to all personal information collected by SANARTE FOUNDATION on the website sanartefoundation.org and other website which are providing support and services for our organization. Registering and/or donating on this website constitutes an opt-in to receive communication from SANARTE FOUNDATION, unless you inform us otherwise by emailing us at SANARTE FOUNDATION.

Information Collected

We collect: name, address, telephone number, email address, payment information for current transactions only, information you wish to share including tributes (in honor or memory of), email comments, demographic information such as age, gender, relationship to the diseases we are studying, information you provide when you submit an application for employment, internship, or volunteer opportunities, and information you choose to provide when you request information or contact us directly.

We collect personal information when you register for our news, donate, register for events, complete surveys, volunteer, contact us by e-mail or post content on our social media sites. The information we collect is used to provide you with information about our research and programs. We generally respond to requests via email, social media private message and on occasion through postal mail service, telephone or Skype.

 

How Information is Used

SANARTE FOUNDATION uses your information to understand your needs and provide you with better service. Specifically, we use your information to help you complete a transaction, communicate back to you, and update you on SANARTE FOUNDATION happenings.

Payment processing is done through a secure-third party vendor. Credit card numbers are used only for donation or payment processing and are not retained for other purposes. We do not store credit card numbers except for the last 4 digits.

We use the comments you offer to provide you with information requested, and we take each recommendation seriously as to how we might improve communications. We may use your personal information to contact and communicate with you.

 

No Sharing of Personal Information

SANARTE FOUNDATION will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to any other organization. We assure you that the identity of all our donors and constituents will be kept confidential. Use of personal information will be limited to the internal purposes of SANARTE FOUNDATION and only to further the activities and purposes of SANARTE FOUNDATION.

We will send information related to SANARTE FOUNDATION, our programs, events, and general communications if you have opted-in to receive these communications. If you have opted-out of receiving communications, you will continue to receive transactional communications related to your personal donations or tributes only.

 

Social Media Marketing

We may participate in Facebook’s ‘Custom Audience’ program which enables us to display ads to our existing supporters and ‘look alike’ audiences when they visit Facebook. We provide your email address to Facebook, so they can determine whether you are a registered account holder with them. Our ads may then appear when you access Facebook. IP Address

We may also track Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. An IP address is a number that can identify an Internet Service Provider and country location. It cannot provide other personal information.  We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our computer server, and to administer our Online Platforms. Your IP address is used to help identify you but does not contain Personal Information about you. We can use IP addresses as identifying the source and volume of traffic on our website, so we can allocate resources to servers/networks in different regions. We also use IP address security filters to prevent known blacklisted IP addresses from accessing the site.

 

Security of Your Personal Information

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted industry standards to help protect your personal information including without limitation:

  • limiting access to your personal information to those of our employees who require it to provide services to you;
  • requiring employees to sign confidentiality agreements to protect customer and other confidential information;

  • storing your personal information in secure computer systems which protect it from unauthorized access or use.

How Long Will We Keep Your Information

We will maintain a record of your personal information in our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity. If you ask to opt out of our communications, we may continue to maintain a record of your information to enable us to comply with your request not to be contacted by us. We will maintain a record of all donations indefinitely.

 

Removing Your Name from Our Mailing List – Opt Out

It is our desire to not send unwanted communications to our donors or constituents. Constituents may opt-out of communications at any time.

You retain control of how we use your data and you have the right to ask us to stop using your personal information. In some circumstances, we may legally be required to retain your personal data for audit/legal purposes. You are welcome to ask us about this if you choose to opt out. You also have the right to request a copy of the information we have about you and in conjunction with this request, to have us transport this data to a recipient of your choice.
