Ju - Julia Berrios

Ju a Hispanic American Artist based in Doral-Miami, Florida. She arrived to Miami, Florida when she was 7 years old. As a former special education teacher and a regional educational placement specialist, she worked with special needs and gifted children in Miami-Dade County Public Schools for about a decade. Nonetheless, the art world was always her passion. As a self-taught digital artist, she took every opportunity to travel extensively and learn about art history, modern art, postmodern art and contemporary art as well as post contemporary art.

In 2014 while homebound and bedridden due to Fibromyalgia (Fibromyalgia), ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and (Lyme) disease, she created voluminous collections of digital artworks. JU’s Out of Body Experience (Click) was a catalyst for these artistic creations. She has dedicated her digital artwork to our Divine Creator. Believing life is a Gift, she believes our creator allows us the opportunity to evolve and grow through life’s challenges and obstacles. However, her physical recovery improvement would not have been possible without the medical-care and treatment from Dr. Nancy Klimas and INIM (Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine) at NOVA Southeastern University, in South Florida.

Over and above in 2018 and 2022, she was a Glioblastoma (Glioblastoma) brain tumor and cancer survivor thanks to DrRicardo J. Komotar, a world renowned brain neurosurgeon, University of Miami Health System.  As a result, her digital art collections manifested even further to raise world health consciousness thru “COMPASSION in action” and SANARTE Foundation, a non-profit organization was born.
